Tradition, technology and collective action

ASOGROCAIMA Projects

Initiatives rooted in Nocaima’s panela-making traditions and the organizational needs of rural communities.

Panela Plus and El Panelero bring together two areas of the association’s work: sugarcane processing and technology for rural management. Discover what each project does, how it supports our mission and where to learn more.

Panela Plus: tradition taking new forms

Panela Plus is an ASOGROCAIMA initiative from Nocaima, Cundinamarca. It connects the area’s panela-making traditions with new ways of processing and presenting panela, an unrefined cane sugar that is part of the region’s agricultural history.

ASOGROCAIMA makes the product using its knowledge of working with sugarcane. Its development reflects one of our areas of action: exploring processing alternatives that keep the product’s origins and its connection to organized farmers at the forefront.

El Panelero: information to organize your farm

El Panelero is an application developed by ASOGROCAIMA to organize work on panela-producing farms. It brings daily operating records together and allows owners, managers and workers to participate according to their roles and access permissions.

Work and teams

Organize workers, tasks and daily work records to keep track of farm activities.

Production and resources

Records of sugarcane processing, inventories and purchases to document production processes.

Accounts and traceability

Review sharecropping agreements, transactions, settlements and farm reports.

Intermittent connectivity

Store information locally and synchronize pending records when the connection returns, depending on device and session conditions.

This tool uses technology to meet a specific need in the sector: keeping organized information about work, resources and production. The official website explains how it works, its availability and its terms of use.
